Halloween Fun!

We sure had a great Halloween! The weekend was jam packed with action!
Charlotte went to her first Halloween Party on Friday, October 29th at Kirtland.
She checked out the dance floor, which was laden with kids, a fog machine, and disco lights. She was a little timid at first, but once she let go of Daddy's hand, we couldn't get her away from the dance floor! Her favorite move was the Twirl and Lift the skirt. Aunt Katherine and Granna-Bain joined us for some dinner and dancing as well!

Saturday, October 30, Charlotte helped carve her pumpkin, although she mainly just fed Mr. Pumpkin cheerios.
That night, Mommy and Daddy had a MAD MEN Halloween Party for their friends! Everyone looked amazing and took this great photo in front of a 1960's Chevy Belair.
Sunday, October 31, was the big night for Trick or Treat! The little ladybug loved riding in her wagon to our neighbors houses. She walked right up to their doors and picked out her candy. It was pretty chilly out, so we only went to a few houses, but it didn't take long for her to understand the candy concept. Like Mommy, Like Daughter.

Charlotte's cousins, London and Farah stopped by for a trick or treat hello! London was a beautiful Mermaid and Farah was an adorable spider!

And just like Mommy, Charlotte is already thinking about her next Halloween!

Fall 2010

The fall is off and running, we have had great weather this fall!
We've done a lot of fall activities and getting ready for Halloween!

We took a trip to Patterson's Fruit Farm with Grammie and Grandpa to pick up some apples and pumpkins for the fall!
We also visited the Holden Arboretum for an event "Ghouls in the Garden"
Charlotte got her first taste of Trick or Treating and wore Mommy's costume when she was 14 months old.
Charlotte enjoyed being a little "Prairie Girl" and finding friends along the paths!

Summer Adventures

Well, here is the quick Cliff Notes Version of our 2010 Summer! A lot has changed from last summer. For instance, Hugh and I were able to get a lot more sleep than last summer!

Hugh and I also got to enjoy being outdoors. We've tried to recap a lot of the fun we had with family and friends below!

Throughout the summer months, Mom and Dad played Softball on Friday nights with their friends on Team GREENOVATORS! Season Record - 2-12-0. Three Family MVPs, Doubles and Triples, In the Park Home Runs, Cat-Like Reflex catches, two hyper-extended knees, one almost dislocated jaw, sore muscles, a few hangovers and one dislocated shoulder. These amazing feats were not all from this Slater Side, but the combo of Slater-Drcar-Hollis families combined! All that said, it was a lot of fun and we are ready for season two in the Mayfield Village League!
Look out Jack Matia and/or Firehouse.
Charlotte's First Birthday! We had the family over for some playtime, dinner and of course cake! She takes after her mommy and loves that sugar!
Charlotte and her cousins, London (2) and Farah (9 mos) These girls are a lot of fun to watch together! I think we are in for some trouble once they get older!

We also took our First Zoo Trip with Auntie Ali! Charlotte loved the giraffes, the petting zoo and the polar bears. However, I think she was more interested in the sheep toys than the sheep itself.

Mom and Dad also went down to Vero Beach for Anna-Bain & Brooks' Wedding! What a fun time with our family and beautiful weather!

This summer certainly flew by. We had a wonderful 4th of July with family. Charlotte didn't quite make it to the fireworks, but she did enjoy running around KCC and getting in and out of the adirondack chairs.
We also took a weekend trip to Kelleys Island with Auntie Ali, Uncle Brendon, and their friends Marissa, Dan and their daughter Cecile. Charlotte had a great time but wasn't too interested in the sand or water. However, she really liked picnic time on the blanket with mom and dad!

Charlotte also got to spend a lot of time with her cousins this summer! She really took to following London around Grandpa & Granna Bain's apartment!

We hope to be a little more on top of things this Fall now that work is slowing down and Charlotte is learning to type and upload her own photos now. (just kidding...)

Happy Back to School, Last Days of Summer to everyone!

Hugs & Kisses,
Hugh, Brooke, Charlotte & Ace & Belle

First Easter!

My First Easter was a total success! I loved finding my baskets throughout the family room and playing with my new lawnmower and Minnie Mouse!
I spent the weekend at Grammie & Grampa's with Mommy. Daddy was flying home from China on Easter day, but we made sure to send him lots of pictures of me!

We read stories together.

We worked on waving Hello!

We had a great time at Grammie & Grampa's. Mom got some rest too. Then on Monday, Daddy and I had our own Easter Basket hunt together!

Florida Trip Number Two!

Wow! I am a lucky girl! I got to go to Florida again this March with my Mom and Dad!
We had a great time and I really got to enjoy John's Island a lot more since I am crawling around and exploring everything!

I loved spending time with Grandpa and Granna Bain! We read lots of stories, swam in the pool, and I even got the play in the sand at the beach! I might have tasted the sand too...it was not very good.

We even went to a carnival at the Beach Club and I tasted my first Ice Cream Bar! It was delicious! I can't wait until my first birthday for some real cake!

We had such a fun time, I can't wait to go back again!

Love,

Charlotte

2010 Our Adventures Continue by Charlotte Slater

We took our first family vacation together and went visiting My Grandparents. I was a good girl on the plane, I slept through take off and was very interested in all the people sitting behind us.

We flew into Orlando to visit Grandpa and Grandma for New Year's Eve, and then headed down to see GrandMolly & GrandMary and Uncle Mike in Ft. Lauderdale. Aunt Emily & Cousin Oliver came with us! It was a long drive, but Cousin Oliver was very busy making me laugh in the back seat.

In Fort Lauderdale, we went to lunches, ate delicious food and Mommy and Daddy got to out on a date night while GrandMolly & GrandMary Babysat me!

I enjoyed eating my first real foods. I didn't like it at first, but I sure did by the end of our trip!

I really liked GrandMolly's apartment! There is plenty of room for me to crawl around and explore. We will post pictures of this part of our trip soon! Mommy and Daddy's camera wasn't shipped yet, so we used GrandMolly's Camera.

A few days later, we drove 2 hours to see Grandpa & Grandma in Vero Beach. The weather was a little chilly. Mommy promised the next time we came it would be warmer and I could play more in the pool and beach. We still had a great time playing with Grandpa & Grandma. I also really liked playing with Aunt Katherine! She is so silly sometimes and really makes me giggle! Mommy and Daddy also enjoyed another date night in Vero! It was nice to have the grandparents all to myself. Even if I was asleep most of the time!

Here are some photos from our trip!

When we got home, the food adventures continue! I really do not like to eat squash, but I love Bananas, Apples, Sweet Potatoes & Carrots. I also like eating my Sweet Rice Puffs & Cheesey Poofs. Its fun to crunch them with my two bottom teeth. If you listen carefully in this video, you can hear me chomping away!

Well it is time for my nap now, I'll keep you posted on our adventures! We have lots of fun to look forward to this Spring and Summer!

Love,
Charlotte
